Opportunities

Postdoctoral Fellow
The Diggle Lab is seeking to recruit an outstanding PhD scientist to join the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will work within the scientific interests of the lab, while having the opportunity to develop their own ideas.

In the Diggle Lab, we are interested in
understanding microbial interactions and social behaviors and the implications for virulence, disease and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our main study organism is the antibiotic resistant superbug Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Diggle & Whiteley 2020). We combine classical genetic techniques with high-throughput sequencing, transcriptomics and confocal microscopy to address questions about cooperative and competitive interactions, ecology, virulence and AMR evolution. The lab is located at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and we are affiliated with the Center for Microbial Dynamics and Infection and the School of Biological Sciences, as well as the Emory-Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Center.
